Chance The Rapper Confirms Joint Album With Lil B
Chance The Rapper called into Bootleg Kev's radio station tonight and confirmed his Lil B album.
A couple weeks ago, news surfaced that Chance The Rapper and Lil B were allegedly doing a joint album together. While many fans were unsure on the accuracy of this story or more so stunned about it, Chance decided to make it official tonight and confirm the project on Bootleg Kev’s radio show.
Calling into the station, Chance spoke on the current state of Chicago, how he feels about Drake’s “Back To Back” diss, and whether or not he has new music on the way with Kanye West, which he says they’ve been in the studio “talking”.
But what really caught our attention in the interview though was Chance’s confirmation of his album with Lil B. Calling it a “masterpiece” and “classic,” Chance wouldn’t reveal the amount of tracks we can expect to hear or its features, but he definitely confirmed it as a “full-fledged album”.
Meek Mill Goes At Hot 97's TT Torrez On IG
Meek Mill beefs with Hot 97's TT Torrez on Instagram.
While we wait for Meek’s response, which is reportedly dropping tonight by the way, the MMG member decided to break his silence today by going at a Hot 97 radio personality in the comment section of Instagram Thursday night.
Thanks to BallerAlert, who captured the comments, Meek decided to go at Hot 97’s TT Torrez for allegedly praying for his downfall and being way too negative towards him especially for her position as program director. Delivering paragraphs of shade, Meek told BallerAlert that TT is going harder at him than the “OVO Camp”.
Taking things a little more personal, Meek later sent shots at TT for sleeping with Nicki’s ex, Safaree "SB" Samuels and explained that that’s why she’s been trying to take him down recently.
Check out the barrage of comments in the gallery above. And oh yeah, keep your eyes peeled for his Drake diss to still drop tonight.
Birdman's Instagram Hacked
Birdman's IG was hacked in a big way.
Birdman's Instagram was hacked Thursday afternoon, his phone numbers and personal email addresses made bare for his 1.6 million followers and the whole world to see. Birdman has since deleted the images.
The hacker posted a mysterious message that ended with Birdman's contact info three times with the caption "Kallme pls." He then posted a photo reading only "the best is yet to come," captioned "lol." After Birdman deleted these images, the hacker returned, posting "Don't be shy, just call me. I love attention."
Birdman has taken his share of Ls this year, but perhaps none bigger than this.
See what the hacker posted on Birdman's IG in the gallery. We've omitted his contact info.
Who do you think is behind the hacking?
Drake Responds To Meek’s Diss Record On Instagram
Drake thinks Meek's response is a "laughing" matter.
Meek finally responded to Drake’s double shot of diss records this week with the track “Wanna Know” tonight. While the immediate reception isn’t looking great for Meek, we did get a response from the track’s subject matter, Drake.
Taking to Instagram, Drake simply put up a photo of himself laughing hysterically while looking at his phone, suggesting Meek’s response was a joke. Now whether or not Drake will fire back at Meek again remains to be unseen, but for now, think Drake can just keep laughing to the bank.
Check out the pic Drizzy shared on IG following Meek’s response.

Is Earl Sweatshirt Changing His Rap Name?
According to Earl, he's changing his rap name soon.
Earl Sweatshirt took to twitter on Wednesday night to announce that he’s changing his rap name soon. Whether he was serious or not remains the only question.
Dishing out a barrage of tweets, Earl, who’s real name is Thebe Neruda Kgositsile, decided to tell the twittersphere that he’s changing his rap name soon, only to end the tweet with a questionable “lol”. While fans were getting “hot” as he described it, Earl then went on to say that he didn't wan't to be a "joke forever" and that “it's not about hating my past I just found a flight name that makes me laugh more than earl sweatshirt does,” which could possibly refer to the recent rumors that Odd Future was done with.
As for what his new name will be, that will be revealed when Earl has new music ready for us. “Just be on standby” as he tells us.

Next Chief Keef Hologram Benefit Concert To Broadcast In 3 Cities At Once
Chief Keef hologram concert to broadcast in Chicago, NYC, & Los Angeles.
Chief Keef's shortened hologram performance last week wasn't the end of his hologram venture. It was just the beginning.
Keef announced that he plans to hold another benefit concert via hologram in mid-September, this time broadcasting simultaneously at venues in Chicago, New York, & Los Angeles, reports Red Eye Chicago. He is partnering with producer Detail to put together an "all-star hip-hop lineup." Though they plan to perform at Madison Square Garden, a MSG rep said, "We are not involved in this in any way."
Alki David, who owns both Hologram USA & FilmOn, the label to which Keef is signed, insisted that his team was in legitimate talks with MSG. "The Madison Square Garden Co. is a powerful partner in this event. Plus we have the time, the means and the community support to fight back if [Chicago mayor] Rahm [Emanuel] is foolish enough to try to censor us again," he said via spokesperson.

VH1 Announces Premiere Date For The Game's Dating Show "She's Got Game"
The premiere of The Game's reality dating show "She's Got Game" is fast approaching.
The Game's reality dating show "She's Got Game" is fast approaching, with VH1 setting the premiere for Aug. 10 at 9 p.m.
According to VH1, the show's premise is as follows:
"At the outset of the series, 10 of The Game's celebrity friends will be tapped as matchmakers. Each of these celebs (men and women), will put forward who they believe to be his perfect girl. Whether it is a beauty from the Bronx or a corn-fed farmer's daughter in Kansas, the celebrities are free to choose any woman they think will win The Game's heart. With his future in mind and each celeb's pride on the line, you'd best believe that the stakes are high.
"On the first episode, 10 women will arrive at The Game's Los Angeles mansion with the expectation that they'll be moving in. Once the kick-off party gets going, The Game will announce that all 10 women will actually be accompanying him on an upcoming tour that starts...the next day. The first show is in Los Angeles and then it's off to the rest of the country. The women will be whisked away to a private jet waiting nearby and set off on an insane adventure.
"Over the next 9 episodes, The Game and the girls will travel in style from Las Vegas to Miami and everything in between via private jet, tour bus, boat, and of course, luxury cars. In each city they'll get to know The Game better by going on extraordinary dates, seeing the city, and making connections with him. The girls will learn to live life on the road to see what his life is really like as The Game performs and makes appearances in cities all across America. In every city, the party ends for one of the girls who is sent packing. In the end, only one woman will be able to say She's Got Game."
Sounds incredible. The Game is a veteran in the world of reality TV, having previously starred in VH1 show "Marrying The Game," which followed his family life and relationship with then-fiance Tiffney Cambridge. "She's Got Game" promises to be even better.
Stream Dreezy's "Call It What You Want" EP
Dreezy shares her new EP, "Call It What You Want," for free stream.
Dreezy has been making her mark in Chicago over the year or so, but she's yet to truly break through on a truly national level. Her new project, Call It What You Want, finds her songwriting advancing even beyond that of her impressive Schizo mixtape. She's also recruited some notable collaborators, working with 1500 Or Nothin, 808 Mafia, K Camp, and Teyana Taylor throughout the 5 tracks.
As usual, Dreezy delivers traditional R&B, hard street rap, and everything in between. Rather than choosing a lane, she's decided to expand her range further, while still always playing to her strengths.

Styles P Opens Up About His Daughter's Suicide
Styles P shares a heartfelt message, revealing his daughter committed suicide, on Instagram.
Styles P is a veteran rapper who, unlike a lot of the newer generation of MCs, isn't super outspoken about his personal life and his emotions either on wax or on social media. Nonetheless, the rapper decided to share with his fans on Instagram last night, revealing an incident dear to his heart; his daughter committed suicide just last month.
Styles starts the Instagram post, "I rarely speak on my personal issues and i usually express my pain the through music but today I will share a little with you last month my wife and I lost a daughter and my son lost a sister." He went on, "My baby girl took her life and there are no words to describe the day to day pain we have to endure and maintain through but in dealing with pain you find yourself dealing with the creator and asking questions and going through emotions most would not understand."
Despite going through such a difficult time, the rapper left his fans with a positive message: "So I just want to tell yall keep it family 1st and don't get lost and lose your focus the fam is way more important than anything else .... We lost a daughter but gained an angel . Love is love ..ghost."
Khloe Kardashian Covers Complex Magazine
Khloe Kardashian graces the cover of Complex magazine.
Khloe Kardashian, the most outspoken Kardashian of the bunch, is on the cover of Complex's August/September issue. The youngest Kardashian sister posed for Complex in high-fashion work-out attire, and spoke with the magazine out in L.A.
During the interview, Khloe touched on her past beef with Amber Rose, Kylie Jenner and Tyga's relationship, French Montana, among other things. View a few excerpts from the conversation below, as well as the magazine cover above.
The most controversial was your spat with Amber Rose. Do you think you slut-shamed her?
I just feel like it was unnecessary for her to say anything, and I used her own quote back. It was from her talking about when she became a stripper so I’m like, “How are you judging and saying Kylie should have a curfew?” What I thought was crazy was she was telling my sister to act a certain way or have a curfew, but [she wasn’t] doing the same. So just don’t comment. How was I slut-shaming by saying don’t throw stones at glass houses? There was no slut-shaming. I am not one to slut-shame, I have done slutty behavior myself.
Do you feel that the criticisms of Kylie and Tyga’s relationship are fair?
I think at 16 I was probably fucking someone that was in their 20s, for sure. I wouldn’t say I was even dating, probably just sleeping with them. But again Kylie is not a normal 17-year-old. You’re not gonna say, “Hey, so what are you doing this weekend?” and have her say, “Having a slumber party at my girlfriend’s,” or “Going to prom.” That’s not what Kylie does. Kylie is taking business meetings and bought her first house, or she’s going on a private plane with Karl Lagerfeld to take a meeting. That’s not even what people do in their 30s. It’s a rare circumstance, so let’s treat this as a special case.
What’s your relationship like with French Montana now?
We haven’t dated in a few months. I’m friends with him. I talked to him recently because his best friend was just murdered. He’s a great guy, super funny, a sweetheart.
Would you consider him a rebound?
I don’t know if I believe in rebounds, unless you just sleep with someone for a night or two. They’re just people you can laugh and have a good time with. My life is so serious, or always moving so fast, it’s fun to have that outlet to enjoy and let your hair down and not worry about things.
And you guys seem to be cool even if you’re not together.
When you fuck someone, why would you not…. Like, if someone has seen my vagina, I think it’s OK that I say hi and give him a hug hello.
A$AP Ferg Says He's Been In The Studio With Pharrell & Madonna
A$AP Ferg says his sophomore album is "definitely" coming out this year.
A$AP Ferg says that he's been in the studio with Pharrell and Madonna, and that his sophomore follow up to 2013's Trap Lord will be out before the end of 2015.
"I'm working on my album. The album is coming out this year, definitely," Ferg told Revolt TV during an interview at the Pitchfork Music Festival. "I got a lot of collaborations on there, I got a lot of my own songs on there. So far, everybody I played it for said it’s crazy. I was in the studio with Pharrell, I was in the studio with Madonna, and they said, 'oh, this is crazy.' Missy said it's crazy."
Hopefully this means he's also been working with Missy Elliott. Earlier this year he said his album would be out by summer, so his claim that the album will be out before the end of the year should be taken with a small grain of salt.

Meek Mill Fires Shots At Drake During Brooklyn Performance
Meek Mill is still mad at Drake for enlisting a ghostwriter on "R.I.C.O."
Opening for Nicki Minaj at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Sunday, Meek Mill had some harsh words for Drake in his first public appearance since Drake released diss track "Charged Up," in which he called Meek a "charity case" and more.
"I was doing my album. And I asked the nigga to give me a verse for my album," Meek told the Brooklyn audience, pacing back and forth onstage. "The nigga gave me a verse for my album. But he gave me a verse that he didn't write that another nigga wrote. Where I come from, I represent the motherfucking game. I represent the motherfucking streets. If you ain't with me, you ain't gotta act like you with me, I got the motherfucking streets with me for life!"
Meek already let us know he was underwhelmed by "Charged Up." It is clear from this onstage rant that he still feels genuinely disrespected by Drake for enlisting a ghostwriter for his verse on "R.I.C.O."

Eminem fields questions in a rare Twitter Q&A
Eminem hosted a Twitter Q&A this afternoon to promote "Southpaw," which premieres today. He took 13 questions from fans who submitted queries via the hashtag #DearSlim.
Eminem, who was originally slated to star in the film, said he turned down the role because his nose is "already fucked up enough." 50 Cent Ordered To Pay $2 Million More In Sex Tape Case
Don't close that checkbook, Fiddy!
A Manhattan jury ruled today that 50 Cent must pay Lastonia Leviston $2 million on top of the $5 million in punitive damages he was ordered to pay her two weeks ago as restitution for posting her sex tape online in 2009.
According to the New York Daily News, the jury didn't feel 50 was sufficiently contrite for his actions.
"I don't think he was taking it seriously," said juror Sylvia Rodriguez. "He was winking at one of us, and then he just ran out of the courtroom. That wasn't necessary... he was funny, which wasn't working at all for someone who has hurt someone else."
Rodriguez also said she was skeptical that 50 was impoverished as he led them to believe. "I don't think he's broke. If anything he has it hidden," she said.
Leviston, who has a child by Rick Ross, originally sought as much as $20 million in damages, but she was satisfied with the jury's decision, saying that she felt she had “been served justice by the courts and vindicated by God.” In regard to 50 Cent, she had this to say: "I hoped he learned a lesson."
This new development emerged as 50 Cent walked the red carpet for the premiere of "Southpaw," starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

Bobby Shmurda pleads not guilty for his role in the Rikers Island shank incident.
Bobby Shmurda pled not guilty Thursday to felony and misdemeanor charges of promoting prison contraband, perjury, and criminal possession of a weapon, according to a report from the New York Times.
On June 21, Shmurda's girlfriend Kimberly Rosseau paid him a visit at Rikers Island with a shank hidden in her bra. A guard noticed her attempt to pass him the object, wrapped in black electrical tape, and the both of them were subsequently arrested. Though she pled guilty to her charges, Shmurda is going the opposite route. The perjury portion of his charges are on account of the prosecution accusing him of lying to the grand jury regarding the case.
Rosseau's next hearing is scheduled for August. Shmurda's next hearing is scheduled for October. If convicted, he could face as many as seven years in prison.

Chris Brown Cleared To Leave The Philippines
Chris Brown was finally cleared to leave The Philippines.
Earlier this week, Chris Brown completed a show in Manila, and was getting ready to leave The Philippines when he was blocked by the Philippine Department of Justice. On grounds that he had missed a previous New Year's Eve concert he had scheduled in the country, Brown was barred from leaving the country for an undisclosed amount of time, prompting him to even ask Obama for help. Now it looks like he's finally free to go.
Breezy just posted a n Instagram video of himself walking down the tarmac at what we assume to be the Manila airport, excitedly shouting, “Manila, it was fun! I love y’all man. We finna come to Macau, party tonight! Turn up!"
Birdman Denies Involvement In Lil Wayne Murder Plot
Birdman claims that he played no part in Jimmy Winfrey's shooting of Lil Wayne's tour bus.
The ongoing Birdman vs. Lil Wayne beef took an ugly turn a few weeks ago, when police documents linked Stunna and Young Thug to a shooting of Wayne's tour bus that occurred on April 26th. One of the main pieces of evidence cited by law enforcement was that someone (police insinuated it was the suspect, Jimmy Winfrey), placed a call to Birdman on a phone owned by the Cash Money boss just after the incident, but now Baby is looking to set the record straight.
A source close to him told TMZ that the outgoing call came from someone in Wayne's camp who was complaining about Winfrey, who had been kicked out of a club for "harassing Wayne" just before the shooting. The source elaborated by saying that everyone from Wayne's people to Cash Money employees to Winfrey himself use company phones technically owned by Birdman, so police can't be certain that it was Winfrey calling him.

Funkmaster Flex Leaks Quentin Miller’s Reference Track For Drake’s “10 Bands”
Quentin Miller’s “10 Bands” reference track for Drake surfaces online thanks to Funk Flex.
Last night after Meek Mill called out Drake for not writing his own raps and for having a ghostwriter, the internet went into a frenzy trying to figure out just what & who Meek was talking about. Later, Meek went on to credit an artist named Quentin Miller for Drake’s hits and was then cosigned by OG Maco.
After we did some digging of our own today to find out more about this Quentin Miller (which you should read here), Hot 97’s own Funkmaster Flex decided to take to the airwaves tonight and leak the reference track that Miller recorded for Drake’s “10 Bands” song.
"I got this from someone in Drake's camp," Flex said. "They reached out. They saw me keeping it 100 on [Instagram.]"
And according to Flex's unknown source, Drake is paying Miller $5,000 per month from the OVO Sound Label.

While we wait for Drake’s official response from last night’s comments made by Meek Mill, his go-to producer, 40, has decided to break his silence and voice his opinion on the controversy.
Taking to twitter, 40 reminds everyone that Quentin Miller was indeed credited on Drake’s last album, If You're Reading This It's Too Late, making him not much of a ghostwriter at all. Defending his OVO boss fully, 40 also went on to say that “no one is as talented as Drake,” and that its not worth his time to work with other rappers.
Check out his barrage tweets below and let us know what you think.
Listen to 7 New iLoveMakonnen Songs
Listen to some new music from iLoveMakonnen, including tracks with Mike WiLL, Metro Boomin and Trae Tha Truth.
The last 24 hours in rap have been pretty damn crazy, and they don't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. As of today, seven new iLoveMakonnen songs have made their way online. Well, they've actually been floating around since earlier in the week, but it seems they were only recently discovered.
Included within the bunch are a Mike WiLL-remastered take on the tender ballad, "Wishin' You Well," and a Trae Tha Truth x Metro Boomin collaboration. Of course, if you're a fan of the Atlanta free spirit, you'll know he's usually best when he's left to himself on a record.
In other words, there's some fire in this batch. Take a listen to the tracks (via Complex) below, and look out for Makonnen's OVO debut very soon.

OG Maco & Boi-1da Go At Each Other Over Meek Mill's Allegations
OG Maco and Boi-1da engage in a bit of twitter back-and-forth, disputing Meek Mill's allegations.
The twitter drama isn't over just yet. We just reported on how Peter Rosenberg went at Charlamagne Tha God for encouraging the Meek Mill/Drake beef, but they're not the only two who are involving themselves in the "does Drake write his own lyrics" debate.
OG Maco, who has been on a twitter rant roll these days, also went at Drake, big upping Drizzy's purported ghost writer Quentin Miller. Maco defended Meek Mill's tweets, while screenshotting the credits of some of Drake's songs, which show a Q. Miller as a writer (alongside A. Graham, mind you). Boi-1da obviously wasn't feeling this, and told Maco, "bro you look thirsty, chill. Go back to doing whatever you do and stop highlighting my name." As Maco continued to go full force on the issue, the producer later tweeted @OGMaco, "sisqo chill.
Peter Rosenberg Calls Out Charlamagne Tha God
Peter Rosenberg goes at Charlamagne Tha God over his involvement in the Drake/Meek Mill beef.
Meek Mill's twitter rant seems to have the whole rap twittersphere in a tizzy. We've also heard about a disproportional amount of beef these past two days, from Action Bronson vs. Ghostface Killah, to Nicki Minaj vs. VMAs, and then Nicki vs. Taylor Swift; and now Meek Mill vs. Drake.
HOT 97 on-air personality, Peter Rosenberg, has now joined the many kerfuffles by calling out rival station personality Charlamagne Tha God. Rosenberg tweeted about Charlamagne, "Dude has to inject himself into shit and make situations worse for ratings," after C Tha God tweeted "#AubreyNotTheAuthor."
Rosenberg added, "I’m literally too busy for “beef” (none of this is real beef) but to watch someone blatantly try to get hot off rappers’ issues is CORN."
Chris Brown Barred From Leaving Philippines, Breezy Responds
Chris Brown is reportedly not allowed to leave the Philippines.
Chris Brown is in another tricky situation, but that's nothing new for the drama-attracting singer. Breezy had a performance in the Philippines on Tuesday night, and now he's reportedly being blocked from leaving the country because of a past gig he missed.
Reports say that when Brown attempted to leave the country on Wednesday night, to head to his next show in Hong Kong, he was blocked by the Philippine Department of Justice. The singer was scheduled to play a show there last New Year's Eve but he backed out-- the concert promoters were granted an order that barred Brown from leaving the country, in order to get back the money they paid him.
Brown, for his part, has responded to these reports on twitter, calling it all a "misunderstanding." "Don't believe everything you read. It's a misunderstanding between Phil Casey and the promoters. Hopefully this will be resolved shortly," he wrote. In the midst of writing this article,
Toronto Politician Says Meek Mill Isn't Welcome In Toronto
A Toronto City Councillor shuns Meek Mill from entering Toronto, following his diss towards Drake.
Last night we had a bit unexpected excitement, when Meek Mill went off on our twitter timelines, dissing Drake in the process. As for what triggered the rant in the first place, it seems like Meek feels as though he's not getting the respect he deserves.
"Everytime a nigga do numbers they try to make up a reason why..." he wrote, "I was suppose 2 do 200k first week last time..... And when I did 165k they was acting like I failed!" Shortly after the Drake slander came, with Meek tweeting that Drizzy "ain't even write that verse on my album and if I woulda knew I woulda took it off my album..... I don't trick my fans!"
The whole of Toronto will likely come to Drake's defense, and that's starting already with a Toronto City Councillor by the name of Norm Kelly. He got in on the fun by tweeting, "you're no longer welcome in Toronto, @MeekMill."
Who else will come to Drake's defense?

Drake Takes To Instagram To Deliver Heartfelt Message To A Fan Who Passed Away
Drake uses Instagram in a positive way and sends condolences to a fan who passed away recently.
Here's a story that needs to be recognized and done more often. On Monday night, Drake took to Instagram to deliver a heartfelt message to a young fan who tragically passed away recently.
17-year old Jamal Utton, who was a huge fan of Drake, suddenly passed away last week during a rugby tour in Canada. Using the hashtag #DrakeNoticeJamal, fans & friends were able to get Drake’s attention on social media and have the OVO rapper send some condolences to Jamal and his mourning family. Drizzy wrote:
"Heard this young man was a big fan. Rest In Peace Jamal. Watch over me from way up above!"

Kirko Bangz Signs With 300 Entertainment
Kirko Bangz is 300's latest signee.
Just yesterday, Houston's Kirko Bangz linked up with Fetty Wap, the most recent signee at Lyor Cohen's 300 Entertainment label, and now he's announced that he's also been brought into the fold at the label. Today he joins his "Worry Bout It" co-conspirator as a 300 Entertainment artist.
Joining Wap, Migos and Young Thug at the label, Bangz cites his past work with co-founder Todd Moscowitz as one of the reasons for his decision: “I had a lot of success with Todd Moscowitz with ‘Drank In My Cup,’ and I’ve been working with Selim for over four years, so doing this partnership with them is just like I’m going back to the home team. I feel like LeBron James, except I’m going to win the championship. This is the #LMGTakeover.”
Let's see what this does for his career.
Lil Wayne Kicked Off Private Jet For Smoking Weed
The pilot of a private jet turned his plane around after Lil Wayne and his entourage ignored his "no smoking" warnings.
Getting blazed at 30,000 feet sounds like a pretty amazing time, and for Lil Wayne, the temptation of doing so was enough for him to ignore the warnings of a pilot whose plane he had chartered. Him and his crew lit up shortly after takeoff from Ft. Lauderdale, and the pilot promptly turned the plane around and landed it back in Florida.
TMZ reports that Wayne told the pilot that he and his entourage wanted to smoke on the flight, and the pilot flat-out refused. They ignored his command, and thusly he turned the plane around as soon as they lit up, which was only around 17 minutes into the flight. On a somewhat unrelated note, the gossip site claims that Weezy was also onboard with a "double cup" filled with "pink/purple liquid, consistent with sizzurp."

Erykah Badu Calls Out Black Eyed Peas For Copying Her Music Video With "Yesterday"
Erykah Badu says that BEP "borrowed" her idea for their "Yesterday" visuals.
At the end of last week, Black Eyed Peas made a return with their new music video for "Yesterday." As opposed to the pop-leaning music they were making at the height of their popularity (with Fergie), this new song didn't feature Fergie at all and returned to their hip-hop roots.
The group referenced plenty of classic hip-hop records not only in their visuals, where BEP imposed themselves onto many rap vinyls, but with the production, which sampled a plethora of old school records. They were definitely making a statement with their comeback, however, as Erykah Badu has pointed out, she may have already made that statement.
Ms. Badu took to her Facebook page to point out the similarities between the visual she directed for "Honey" and the Black Eyed Peas' "Yesterday"-- both of which feature the artist face imposed on to various vinyls, which are being rifled through out at a record store. Nonetheless she wasn't malicious about it, she said she was "flattered" and called the video "cute."
"I think
THE BLACK EYES PEAS borrowed my idea a Lil lol ...
I'm gone beat up Will I AM.
I wrote and directed this joint. Won best director @ VMA's.. So I understand,
Pasha Shapiro.. Flattered.
Cute video non the less."
Kanye West's "All Day/I Feel Like That" Video To Make U.S. Debut Saturday
The Kanye West X Steve McQueen "All Day/I Feel Like That" video will make its American debut on July 25.
Kanye West first premiered his "All Day/I Feel Like That" in March during Paris fashion week at the Foundation Louis Vuitton. The New York Times reports that the video, a collaborative effort with "12 Years A Slave" director Steve McQueen, will make its American debut Saturday, July 25, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Here's how the Times described the video:
"Filmed in a single nine-minute take at the Chatham Dockyard in southeast England, the video follows Mr. West through an empty warehouse as he runs, crouches, dodges, raps, rants, sweats and pants, as if being pursued by the camera or the police or in pursuit himself, until he slumps against the wall to catch his breath. At several points Mr. McQueen’s focus is so tight that Mr. West’s face cuts in and out of the frame. At one point, the camera keeps its distance as Mr. West raises hands above head in a gesture of surrender."
Dr. Dre & DJ Premier Spotted "Putting In Work" Together
Dr. Dre & DJ Premier link up.
DJ Premier recently posted an Instagram photo of him posing with none other than Dr. Dre in an undisclosed location. "PUTTIN' IN WORK...#premierwuzhere," read Premier's caption.
Though this is definitely exciting to see, it would be best to temper our expectations here for a variety of reasons. Dr. Dre has a habit of appearing in pictures with hip hop luminaries in the studio, such as the one with Snoop Dogg a few weeks back, and we have yet to see even a glimmer of the unicorn-like Detox. Also, it's unclear where they got together, could have just as likely been at Preme's kid's birthday party as in the studio.
Hopefully this is not the last we've heard from this pairing.
DJ Mustard Announces "10 Summers: The Mixtape"
DJ Mustard announces that he's dropping a new mixtape this week.
After giving us his 10 Summers album at the end of last summer (which he did release for free via Google Play initially), DJ Mustard is making a return this summer to ensure we have more material to listen too. It's been two years since he gave us his Ketchup mixtape, which was jam-packed with West Coast features. We'll have to see if we get a similar situation on 10 Summers: The Mixtape Vol 1.
While we wait on the complete tracklist, you can check out the artwork above. Mustard made the announcement on Instagram last night, and since then artists like Ty Dolla $ign, Skeme, TeeFlii and more have supported it on their own accounts.

Future's "DS2" Sales Projections Just Got A Huge Boost
Future will be having a bigger sales week than previously reported.
Future's hype seems to be at an all-time high, but while the initial first week sales projections for his new album, DS2, eclipsed those of his previous two albums, the number didn't seem to match the buzz.
While internet hype is by no means a measure of an album's performance on the charts, it looks like the numbers were actually lowballed. While HDD first reported that DS2 would move around 75k, they've now upped the prediction to 125-135k in sales, and 135-145 with streams.
This is quite a boost for Fewtch, who could possibly pull ahead of A$AP Rocky for the fourth biggest rap debut of 2015. He should land at number one without contest.
What do you think of the numbers? Are they more representative of where Future's at right now?
Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill Perform, Kiss For The Crowd At Pinkprint Tour Kickoff
Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill kickstarted the Pinkprint North American tour in Texas last night.
Nicki Minaj already took her Pinkprint tour through the UK, but it's looking like the North American leg will be a much more rap-oriented affair. Nicki's setlist for the European dates was abnormally heavy on pop and EDM records, but after last night's performance in Texas, it seems like the U.S. dates will have a much more balanced run of songs.
Meek also popped in for the final third of the set, as the two performed their two collaborations from Dreams Worth More Than Money, as well as two from Nicki's album ("Buy A Heart" and "Big Daddy"). While the performances satisfied fans, most people were talking about the kiss (and lick) the two shared while on stage. Despite Joe Budden's protest, people are still very excited by Omeeka, it seems.
Check out some clips of the performance below. Look out for the tour (which also features Rae Sremmurd, Tinashe, and Dej Loaf) to stop in a city near you
Jeremih Arrested For DUI
Jeremih spent the early hours of his birthday in jail after being arrested for a DUI.
Today marks Jeremih's 28th birthday, and things got off to an unfortunate start for the R&B star early this morning. Driving through the San Fernando Valley around 2:15 AM, he was pulled over by California Highway Patrol arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge.
TMZ reports that Jeremih spent the rest of the night behind bars, but posted bail (which was set at $15,000) around 11 this morning. We'll keep you updated on the case.
In other Jeremih related news, his Late Nights: The Album remains delayed as ever. The Hits Daily Double-announced date of July 17th has come and gone with no sign of it, not to mention the fact that the early, digital-only release never surfaced. Hopefully this new charge against Jeremih doesn't cause any further delays
Review: Public Enemy's "Man Plans God Laughs"
Is "Man Plans God Laughs" deserving of Public Enemy's Hall of Fame title?
I want to like the new Public Enemy record. I really do.
When news first broke less than a month ago that the legendary New York rap act who gave us timeless tracks like "Fight the Power" and "Welcome to the Terror Dome" would be making a record once more, I was elated. Sure, the 2000's thus far have been hit or miss for Chuck D and company. However, in light of the turmoil in the African American community (a large topic, if not the only topic, of conversation in P.E.'s music) and their recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I figured there would be some inspired content on Man Plans God Laughs.
I wasn't wrong, per say. Chuck D delivered on his promises to address the sociopolitical goings-ons on Man Plans God Laughs. He does it on every track and keeps his trademark resonant baritone barking rallying cries with familiar dexterity. Also lyrically, the man can still go. While you're not going to get the sort of simile-centric wordplay like you might get from modern emcees, you will get emphatic and thought provoking bars to nosh on as you speed through MPGL ("But what good is my hood when God say it's no good? It's no good when it's no God").
The thing is with Man Plans God Laughs, is that current events weren't the only inspiration. So, too, were Kanye West's Yeezus, Kendrick Lamar and Run the Jewels. And while the fact that Public Enemy - a forefather of Hip-Hop in their own right - can be mused by this generation's crop of rappers is an indicator of the healthy state of the genre, the traces of this kind of inspiration are what muddies MPGL.
Through much of the album, nostalgia is almost reached using simple and retro snare on beats, but the attempts to modernize are unsuccessful and mostly just feel like vacant overproduction. Results are often headache-y and cloud the everlasting quality of Chuck D and his lyrical ability. This occurs most apparently in tracks like "Give Peace a Damn," and "Lost in Space Music" whose hearts are in the right place, yet they both fall so flat with incessant buzz noises, you want to suck your teeth with that referral shame usually reserved for spotting a middle-aged person at the club.
In an interview with Maxim, Chuck D said that the idea behind Man Plans God Laughs was to make "a comment about the 21st century in this technological yet still political world." There are a handful of efforts mostly in the last leg of the record that shows that this idea was, at its core, a good one. "Corporateplantationopoly" is a song that could be successful in any decade Public Enemy has been active in, and is thus a welcome addition to Man Plans God Laughs. "Mine Again" and "Those Who Know Who" are right in the wheelhouse of this political binary inspiration, and for the most part are able to knock it out of the park.
Part of the issue with Man Plans God Laughs is that these songs don't surpass three minutes - ever - and so even when the music feels quality, the bridge is always burning behind you as you cross it. What should feel like a victory lap as MPGL is ending, feels like a mad dash to the finish - a fast and furious attempt to go out strong to compensate for a false start. Both the good and the bad of Man Plans God Laughs are equally fleeting. The listener isn't given the time to have a nostalgia trip and they're not offered anything very groundbreaking, either.
The merit of the socially conscious rapper is at an arguable all time high. Public schools are turning to To Pimp a Butterfly for lesson plans and J. Cole is performing songs like "Be Free" on the Late Show with David Letterman to devastating effect. One wants the story to have Public Enemy round out the movement with a quality release in the twilight of their careers. That is undoubtedly how the story should go. It's what I planned for, and by the sounds of it, it's what Chuck D wanted.
Unfortunately for fans, critics and Chuck D alike, that didn't go according to plan.
I guess somewhere God is laughing.
