Master P Announces Self-Directed Biopic Slated For 2016 Release
N.W.A. isn't the only one coming out with a rap biopic.
With an estimated net worth of $350 million, Master P is one of the most successful rappers and businessman in the history of hip hop. Now he's taking his rags-to-riches story to the silver screen. Produced in-house by No Limit Forever Films, "Ice Cream Man: King of the South" is slated for a spring 2016 release.
Raised in the Calliope Projects in the 3rd Ward of New Orleans, Master P went on to become a multi-platinum rapper and sell 75 million records through his independent label No Limit Records. He co-wrote the script for "Ice Cream Man" and is apparently directing the film as well. The newly released film trailer features grainy footage of a young Percy Miller making the transition from street-hardened gangster to bonafide rap star.
