Suge Knight, Dr. Dre & Ice Cube Targeted In Wrongful Death Lawsuit
Things aren't looking up for Suge Knight yet, who is currently in jail with bail set at $10 million. The former music executive plead not guilty to the murder charges, and trail is expected to get underway on July 7th.
Before that time, the family of the victim in the hit-and-run, Terry Carter, has filed a lawsuit against Suge. Dr. Dre and Ice Cube are also named as defendants in the new suit, according to TMZ. The lawsuit, filed by Carter's wife and children, claims that both Dre and Cube (producers of "Straight Outta Compton") hired known gang members for security on shoots which were located in a gang-heavy area. The suit continues to state that it was some of the gang members who incited a fight with Suge Knight, causing him to hop in his car and leave in a panick, thus resulting in the death of a bystander, Terry Carter.
In addition, the Carters are suing Tam's Burgers. Their claim here is that the restaurant's parking lot is often a hotbed for crime, and thus they should have had security.
The Carter family is seeking unspecified damages. We'll keep you updated as the lawsuit unfolds.
