Apple Music Officially Launchs, Pharrell Releases "Freedom" On It
Apple Music makes its official debut today.
Apple Music has arrived. The service officially launched today, and simultaneously nabbed a big exclusive, with the release of Pharrell's new single "Freedom" on the platform.
On Apple Music you can not only stream your music (you'll in fact be able to stream Dr. Dre's The Chronic for the very first time there, as we learned yesterday), but you can also do your downloading via iTunes and listen to their in-house radio show, Beats 1, as well as connect to artists directly through their 'Connect' social platform. The Apple Music radio show will host a variety of celebrities, including shows from Dr. Dre, Drake, Jaden Smith, Pharrell, Disclosure and more. Beats 1 radio will be available to stream worldwide, 24/7, at Noon EST today. Their first interview, conducted by co-anchor Zane Lowe, will be one with Eminem.
The service will set you back $9.99/month, with the first three months available for free. You'll need to update your iPhone to iOS 8.4 in order to get the app. Let us know your initial thoughts on the service, if you've signed up for it.
