Boosie Badazz: Baton Rouge Violence Won't Stop Until Killer Cops Are Convicted
The Baton Rouge rap hero speaks on today's shooting that killed three police officers in his hometown. He fears that the violence will only continue until the officers who have killed black civilians are tried and convicted.
The city of Baton Rouge has been in anguish ever since the police killing of Alton Sterling. Today, the Louisiana capital was struck with more tragedy, as a gunman went on a rampage that killed three Baton Rouge police officers and injured three others. The suspect, whom has been identified as Gavin Eugene Long of Kansas City, Missouri, has been killed. He was an ex-Marine, and today was reportedly his 29th birthday. One of the biggest celebrities to come out of Baton Rouge, Boosie Badazz, has shared his thoughts on the madness that has recently transpired in his hometown.
Speaking to TMZ, Boosie explains how the killing of Alton Sterling, whose funeral was held yesterday, has struck anger in most everyone he has talked to in Baton Rouge, both young an old. He says that both police and civilians have found themselves in a precarious situation, and he believes that the climate will only continue to get more hostile until officers like those involved in the killing of Alton Sterling are held responsible and punished accordingly. "If that guy don't get indicted and sent to prison for life," says Boosie, "It's gonna be another one. It's gonna be another shooting."
