Big K.R.I.T. Announces Departure From Def Jam Records
Big K.R.I.T. is no longer a member of the Def Jam family.
Following today’s unique rollout strategy from Big K.R.I.T., which saw him dropping a new freestyle every hour leading up to midnight, the Mississippi artist decided to end the evening with a major announcement.
Taking to his twitter account after his last freestyle, Krit decided to announce that he is no longer a member of Def Jam Records, and that he’ll presumably being taking the independent route. Thanking his fans & peers along the way, Krizzle had the following message to say…
“I want to thank each and every one of you for following & supporting me through out my career up until this moment. And at this moment right now, I want to share with you, that I am no longer with Def Jam. It's officially MULTI til the Sun die.”
During his run under Def Jam, Krit released two studio albums, Live from the Underground in 2012 and Cadillactica in 2014, but both received criticism from fans for the lack of label support during the roll out.
