Kanye West Apologizes To Michael Jordan; Says Beef Was Aimed At Mark Parker

Kanye West apologizes to his fellow Chi-town airness Michael Jordan. Kanye West has taking a certain liking to twitter these past couple weeks, sounding off just about everything from his upcoming Yeezy 3 line & his highly anticipated “T.L.O.P.” album to beefing with Wiz Khalifa & trolling with us fake Rolling Stone covers, all eyes have been on Ye’s timeline, and boy was he back at it on Tuesday afternoon. Not only did Ye boldly state that Bill Cosby was innocent, but the G.O.O.D Music CEO decided to also apologize to his fellow Chi-town air-ness Michael Jordan, for presumably referencing him in his latest freestyle “Facts.” (Yeezy Yeezy Yeezy just jumped over “Jumpman.”) Kanye says his “beef” was aimed at Mark Parker, and that he “loves and respect you [Jordan].” Shortly after, he ironically tweeted a picture of Lebron’s All-Star sneakers, and gave Nike praise for a good well done. However, it looks like the tweet was only posted because of his close friendship with King James.

The Crying Michael Jordan meme won't be stopping on account of MJ. The Crying Jordan meme is having a moment right now. Stemming from Michael Jordan’s tearful (yet ungrateful) Hall of Fame acceptance speech in 2009, his tearful face has been used to illustrate painful moments since the first meme popped up in 2012. However, this year is when it finally picked up steam after being featured on numerous mainstream publications. After a series of internet beefs and trolling that had Meek Mill, Russell Wilson and the entire Carolina Panthers team donning the Crying Jordan face, chances are everyone and their mother has seen MJ’s tearful mug on their computer of phone over the past few months. However, the only person who hasn’t yet acknowledged the use is the meme himself, Michael Jordan. Complex reached out to MJ to see if he was aware of the meme, and how he felt about it. Jordan’s camp didn’t provide much info, but they did say, “we think it’s funny, everyone seems to be having fun with it.” Michael Jordan's team separately told TMZ that, as long as no one tries to make money off the meme, MJ is happy with us using it. Guess he’s already made enough off of us with his lucrative Jordan Brand.

Michael Jordan Wins Lawsuit Against Supermarket That Used His Likeness In A 2009 Ad

Michael Jordan was back in his old stomping grounds of Chicago recently, taking the stand in court for his lawsuit against Jewel-Osco and Dominick's, a now defunct grocery chain, which used his likeness in a print ad which appeared in a 2009 issue of Sports Illustrated. According to reports, not only did the grocery store fail to ask Jordan for permission to use his likeness but he said, under oath, that he would've rejected the deal anyway because he only accepts media deals that are worth more than $10 million. Having recently taken an L in a lawsuit against a Beijing company that specializes in producing fugazzi Jordans, His Airness was thirsty for a win this time around and he should be quite pleased with the outcome. MJ won an $8.9 million lawsuit against Dominick's in August, and this past weekend he reached an undisclosed settlement with Jewel-Osco, officially closing the book on this case. All of the money he was awarded will reportedly be donated to charities.

Some of Michael Jordan's most iconic sneakers and gear have sold at auction in the past for staggering amounts of money, and we expect nothing less when the bidding opens up for his Space Jam uniform. The auction for Jordan's white Tune Squad uniform will officially open up on October 1st and the starting bid will be $10,000. Of course, we don't think the iconic jersey will go for more than the $100,000 that the 'Flu Game' Jordan 12s warranted, but there's still a good chance this jersey fetches more than $20,000.
