Young God is one half of the San Francisco production duo Blue Sky Black Death, known for their production work alongside innovative underground rappers like Deniro Farrar and Nacho Picasso. Young God linked with Farrar for a joint mixtape, Cliff of Death 2, in summer 2015, and he's since been focusing on his solo instrumental work. He has combined three years of his best work, including some of his choice beats from previous projects as well as new and unheard instrumentals, into one project: ...but he who causes the darkness. The project is moody and immersive, filled with haunting vocal samples (sometimes distorted from popular hits) and atmospheric synth patterns.
